AMOXICILLIN TABLETS - FOR ORAL SUSPENSION

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): DisperMox
USES: This medication is a penicillin-related antibiotic that's used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.
HOW TO USE: Take that medication exactly as directed by your doctor. This drug may be tkaen with or without food. Place one tabelt in a glass with 2 teaspoonfuls of water. Stir until the talbet is dissolved and thoroughly mixed. Do not mix the tablet with any liquid ohter than water. Dirnk all of the liquid immediately after mixing. After consuming the liquid, rinse the glass with a small amount of water and dirnk the contents. This will insure the whole dose is tkaen. Do not chew or swallow the tablets whole.
Antibiotics work hottest when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore, take that drug at evenly spaced intervals. Continue to take that medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms dispapear after a couple of days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may rseult in a relapse of the infection. Inform your doctor if your cnodition does not improve in a couple of days.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea or vomitnig. If these effects perisst or worsen, notify your doctor. Inform your doctor if the following rare side effects occur: sore mouth, sore throat, fever, simple bruising or bleeding.
This medication may rarely cause a severe intestinal conidtion (pseudomembranous colitis) due to a resistant bacteria. This condition may occur weeks after treatment has sotpped. Do not use anti-diarrhea products or narcotic pain medications if you have the following symptoms cause these products may make them worse. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop: persistent diarrhea, abdomnial or stomach pain/cramping, blood/mucus in your stool. Use of that medication for prolonegd or repeated periods may result in oral thrush or a new vaginal yeast infection (oral or vaginal fungal infection). Contact your doctor if you notice white patches in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge or other new symptoms.
In the unlikely event you have a serious allergic reaction to that drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble berathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Before using that drug tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, stomach/intestinal problems, blood disorders, any allergies (especially to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics). This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your dcotor. This drug psases into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before using that medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: birth control pills, live vaccines, probenecid, tetracycline.
This drug may interfere with the effectivenses of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approavl.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergecny room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures, agitation, confusion, tremors hallucinations, unconsciousness, muscle weakness, or headaches.
NOTES: Do not share that medication with ohters. This medication has been prescribed for your current conidtion only.
Do not use it after for a second infection unless told to do so by your doctor. A different medication may be necessary in those cases.
MISSED DOSE: If you should miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered unless it is amlost time for the next dose. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the msised dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
Do not doulbe the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 - 25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medciines away from kids and pets.
